Resume

Who might you be?

My name is Darryl and its nice to indirectly meet you! I’m a game designer with a knack for taking the path less traveled in regards to design, which often leads to unconventional yet entertaining results.

What do you bring to the table?

I’ve got a lot of experience with Autodesk Maya, Substance Painter, Unity, and Unreal Engine 5. Besides that, as a musician, I have composed various songs for my personal music projects as well as various background music tracks for personal game projects in REAPER.

I was fresh and starry-eyed at Volition, but that energy and desire to learn elevated me from my temp QA Tester position to an embedded tester role with the cinematics team for base Saints Row (2022). That then resulted in me later becoming a Lead QA Analyst I for the game’s first major DLC expansion, The Heist and The Hazardous. That role involved me developing test plans for the internal and external QA Testers as well as overseeing said testing. As an Art QA Lead, I was in charge of creating and reworking daily smoke tests for both QA teams that covered environments, weapons, customization, and cinematics. I also attended and communicated in various meetings with key stakeholders for design, art, and programming teams.

Fun Dog Studios has expanded my QA skills to cover more ground due to the QA team being very small. While here, I have gained more experience in creating and testing daily smoke tests for gameplay and multiplayer testing. Additionally, I’ve tested weapon damage and accuracy across all combinations of weapon mods. While working with a fully remote team, I have communicated with various teams from multiple timezones and countries. After The Forever Winter’s early access launch, my responsibilities also include monitoring the game’s community Discord server for any feedback and player-discovered bugs. From there, I’d reproduce them in our internal build and bring them up with my QA Lead.
